Our SERP flux tracker records a first serious SERP tremble since Penguin 3.0 roll-out in Australia. Stronger than Panda 4.1. There’s a conversation on Google+ suggesting this could be a Panda refresh:
“I see huuuge increase for domains having issues which feed Panda algorithm.”, Łukasz Rogala
“Yes, I also can confirm, yesterday 3 pages with Panda penalty was recovered. Last month I recognized 2 updates, first on 4-5.09, and second 22-23.09. Yesterday we had another Panda update.”, Mariusz Kołacz
Google suggested that Penguin 3.0 update may take weeks to roll out globally, but we in Australia haven’t seen any data to support a gradual roll-out model. Instead we observed one major update on the 19th of October and pretty ordinary five days after that. Yesterday Algoroo’s bar went into yellow with 2.72 roos which appears to have made greater impact than the Panda 4.1 update in September (2.4 roos).
“It’s a slow worldwide rollout, so you may notice it settling down over the next few weeks.”
Pierre Far, Google
Back in August this year we’ve seen a cluster of activity similar to what we’re seeing now, strength wise.
There were also a bunch of sporadic disturbances in Google’s SERPs between January and May leading up to another major Panda update:
